Conservation by Design

No three words could better sum up Mineral Springs' philosophy under the leadership of Mayor Rick Becker: "Conservation by Design". As you drive through town on Highway 75, our pole banners along the roadway remind us every day of this commitment and this mission.

"Conservation" is the word that guides all of my principles, and the principles of our town. It is the foundation of our conservation subdivision design and low-density zoning. It is the foundation of our desire to conserve a piece of local history by re-using the old Mineral Springs School buildings for our municipal facilities. It is the foundation of our commitment to the protection and preservation of our environment: clean air, clean water, and open space. It is even the foundation of our conservative fiscal practices: conservation of your tax dollars.
